The Crescent Moon of the Month of Safar 1441 A.H.

On behalf of the Shia Muslim Council of Southern California, we would like to announce that the first day of Safar 1441 AH will be Monday, September 30th, 2019. The crescent moon was sighted during sunset on Sunday, September 29th, 2019.

Key dates for the Month of Safar:

7 Safar – Martyrdom of Imam Hasan (AS)
17 Safar – Martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (AS)
20 Safar – Anniversary of the 40th day of the Martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS)
28 Safar – Death Anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

7th Annual Gents and Ladies Majlis at Wadi us Salaam (La Verne Cemetery) will be held on Sunday Oct 27, 2019 @ 12:30 PM Insha Allah.  Chairs will be available for ladies and elderly. Boxed lunch will be served.
