The Crescent Moon Of The Month Of Ramadhan, 1445 A.H.

Welcoming Ramadhan 1445 A.H.
SMC would like to inform that the moon was sighted with with aid of binoculars by 4 Momineen from our community at Mount Wilson Observatory between 7:31 pm and 7:34 pm. However, as the crescent moon was not spotted by the naked eye, for followers of Ayatollah Sistani, the first day of Ramadhan 1445 A.H. will be Tuesday March 12th, 2024. During these 30 days, let us come together as a community to fast from dawn till dusk, seeking closeness to Allah SWT and practicing compassion towards one another. As we abstain from food and drink, let us also nourish our souls with prayer, recitation of the Quran, and acts of kindness.Ramadhan is not only about abstaining from physical nourishment; it is an opportunity for inner growth and renewal. Let us forgive, seek forgiveness, and extend a helping hand to those in need. Together, we can make a positive impact on our community and beyond.May this Ramadhan bring blessings, peace, and joy to your hearts and homes. May our fasts be accepted, our prayers answered, and our hearts filled with gratitude.

Ramadan Iftar & Adopt A Family
During the Holy Month of Ramadan many of us are blessed to be able to have Iftar with our friends and family. This month provides us opportunities to come together and share memories with our community and build upon our relationships.

In that light if you are looking for a way to share your blessings this Ramadan, SMC is collecting donations to provide Iftar for families in Southern California. This year the goal is to provide more 1,000 meals, focusing on recently settled Afghan refugees and those in dire financial need, including asylum seakers. Help us achieve this goal by donating any amount you are able to or by adopting a family for $500.
