The Shia Muslim Council of Southern California announces that Saturday, April 9th, 2016 will be the first day of the month of Rajab, 1437. 

During the sunset on Thursday, April 7th, the moon was not visible and thus Friday was the last day of Jamadi-al-Thani.

We ask Allah (swt) to give us victory and success in reaping the maximum benefits this month as we honor Imam al-Baqir (AS), and Imam Ali An-Naqi(AS), Imam Muhammed al-Taqi (AS), Imam Musa al-Kadhim (AS), Lady Zainab (AS), and Imam Ali (AS), and we ask Him as well to increase their remembrance among ourselves, our family, and our friends. Finally, we ask Allah (swt) to hasten the Return of our Master, the Awaited Imam (ajfs).
