Saturday, July 18th, is the Day of Eid al-Fitr

The Shia Muslim Council of Southern California announces that, due to the lack of credible reports of the naked eye sighting of the new crescent on Thursday evening, Friday, July 17 is the 30th day of the holy month of Ramadan and Saturday, July 18 is the day of Eid al-Fitr.

SMC wishes you and your families a blessed Eid al-Fitr. We pray that God accepts all of your fastings, prayers, and supplications during the holy month of Ramadan, an this Eid brings our communities together in harmony, respect, and cooperation. We pray to the Most Merciful to bring peace, safety, and relief to all those facing oppression, poverty, and war around the world.

The Shia Muslim Council of Southern California is an umbrella organization of 15 Shia Islamic centers in the southern California area. It was established on September 17, 2014. The current elected board members of the Shia Muslim Council are:
